Towards a Culture of Courtesy – In a recent judgment, CA was moved to call attention to the conduct of the proceedings in the court below. The judicial comments were more than a list of “don’ts” for advocates. They linked bad conduct to bad advocacy. Is courtesy, conversely, the secret of good advocacy? Even before a less than courteous tribunal? The learned JA considers it time to promote a culture of courtesy.
